I have an MBA in Human Resource Management and am trying to find a job in it.?
I have taught Human Resource Management, helped find and interview possible employees and have done many seminars. What am I missing here? Why is it so difficult to find a job in HR? I am very passionate about HR and would be an excellent employee. I loved going to school for it. I have a very good work history. I was a computer programmer for quite a few years and have been a financial advisor for 4. I'm constantly networking, am always sending resumes out and I can't find a job in it. I know I can't be a HR Director off the bat but I don't want an entry level position either. With my work experience and education, I can help a company so much and make a difference. If you have any advice, I would really appreciate it. I even have my own hour long, call in radio show that I love. I'm very personable and easy going and make everyone comfortable.

Sounds like you are just having a hard time... Think about the kinds of companies you have or would like to work at and send them your resume directly....

Although you would think that People Skills would be top of the list of skills important for success in human resource management, my experience says otherwise. Most organizations simply see people as a commodity to be used to turn a profit and so the skills important for success in human resource management become more to do with organizational, persuasion and negotiation skills coupled with administration. http://www.career-consulting-limited.com/managing-people.html is a useful place to go for more info.

-Written & verbal communication skills -Ability to multi-task -Follow up on every thing -Know federal, state and local employment laws -Strong Interpersonal skills -Ability to train employees and management team -Know your organizations rules/policies and procedures -Ability to mediate

Some of the roles played by HR Manager are: -planning, e.g staffing -mediating, e.g industrial relations -auditing (monitoring), e.g performance management, compensation -co-ordinating, e.g managing health and safety -facilitating, e.g training and development In order to perform those roles effectively, the following skills might be useful: - communication skills: vertical, lateral - negotiation skills - interviewing skills - quantitative skills (for use in planning and decision making) - strategic thinking skills and understanding of: - the environment (includes political, legal, social) - the theoretical foundations of HRM - the linkage between HRM and other functional areas in the organization also: -EQ, IQ -cultural awareness, diversity Just my humble opinion.

A Human Resource Manager! Every Company with over 20 employs have one or their looking for one!!!!

An associate degree will increase your options much more than a mere high school education, but you will be much more limited than you would be if you earned a bachelor degree. It is not likely that you can get an entry-level management position with and associate...shoot for a B.S.

Your degree should qualify you for a good job in a Human Resources department of an organization. As you check job listings, check under human resources. Then you'll see the kind of jobs available. You can always call businesses or other organizations and ask if they have a human resources department. Then ask how they list job openings. It would be great at this point for you to get advice from someone in the Human Resources field. Does your school offer job placement assistance? Did you have a teacher in human resources that you liked? Is there an organization of human resource professionals in your area (many areas have them)? It's fine to ask people if they have time to advise you on your job search. Or do an internet search on jobs available in the human resource field. Once you do your research, you'll be better able to find jobs that will value and use your skills. Good luck!

The typical entry level position to get into human resources is an HR Assistant. In most larger companies, this person functions in an administrative role, however you would be dealing with confidential (employee related) information. You can grow into other functional areas of HR from there (recruiting, training, payroll, benefits) but most of those areas will require additional training/classes that some companies are willing to pay for.

You will typically start as an HR assistant. You learn the role (roughly 2 years) and after you get experience needed you can either get promoted into an HR manager (when the position becomes available) or you can apply as an HR manager at a different company. Or, you can try to be an HR manager at a smaller company. Bigger companies need experience. Then after about 2 years at a smaller company you can move to a bigger company.

You can qualify as a junior consultant
