Being in HR myself, I would have to say HR is more rewarding. You have the opportunity to make a difference for the employees and help them feel they have a rewarding position.

Amongst other disciplines, Project Management encompasses HR Management. With most companies, if they are in the process of development, they will task a project management team to oversee a business transition. HR is one of the most important aspects of those plans...however...the entire plan falls under the larger umbrella of Project Management. More responsibility means more bucks.

In Project Management (PM), you are managing all the resouces, like machinery, raw materials, humans, money etc. to reach a goal in a specified period of time. But Human Resources Mgmt (HR) is concerned in humans only. Both are great but totally different. In the long term, one has to establish himself in the field and acquire diverse skills to grow up. This will give you better paychecks. So it will be bettr to select the domai which suits you the best. That pays better in the long run

They are pretty similar in terms of being rewarding, but for different reasons. Project Management will net you the best salary, and there's a world of industries you can work for. Almost any manufacturing sector industry uses one form of PM or another, as well as any company that develops in-house Information Systems solutions. IT Project Management, or any technical sector (military systems, aircraft, space) can open doors to much bigger things, such as being the Director of NASA. That's not to say that HR can't make you money, but a supervisory, management, or some specialist position would be required. There are plenty of general office admin-type jobs in HR that don't pay too well. Of course, a lot of reward can come from being directly influential in the lives of people, and some say there is no greater reward.
