most people see the individual as more of a problem than the workplace. some disabilities can be accommodated quite easily, and that is how the law has been written "reasonable accommodation" not jump through hoops for everybody

Wikipedia on "assistive technologies" gives many examples. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Assistive_technology Assistive technologies empower the disabled person by enabling the workplace. A strong case can be made that reasonable additions of assistive technology help the company by allowing disabled persons to bring their skills into play. Probably companies initially see the disability as a problem because it forces initial outlays that don't bring immediate return. They change their views only when they begin to reap the profits of the work enabled by assistive technology.
